HistoryLeo DiGesare - Founder

Leo DiGesare founded his plumbing and heating business in 1948 with a single-minded devotion to pleasing the customer. Known then as Leo DiGesare Plumbing and Heating, the company sold and installed boilers and cast iron radiators and offered residential plumbing and heating services. Leo's method of doing business selling superior equipment, installing it properly, on time, within the customers budget, and standing behind his work was the basis of the company's success. It is these convictions that have served as the guiding principle through to the next generation of family ownership. Today, the company, which proudly bears the name of its founder, continues his dedication to customer service, quality and innovation.

 

Today

DiGesare Mechanical is the largest privately held mechanical construction company in Upstate New York and is proud to be ranked among the nations largest specialty mechanical contracting firms in the publication ENR/Engineering News-Record, as well as ranked among the top 100 mechanical contracting firms by the 2003 Annual Report on the Nation's Mechanical Contracting giants.

Being a full service organization we are able to provide total mechanical construction including HVAC, process piping, refrigeration, plumbing, fire protection, pre-fabrication, rigging, energy management and temperature control.  Beyond mechanical construction, we are additionally able to offer our commercial, industrial and institutional clients, a complete general construction turn-key project. This provides our customers with a single company able to offer a comprehensive approach to many needs.

DiGesare Mechanical prides itself as a union shop mechanical contractor with a well trained labor force consisting of superintendents, foremen, journeymen plumbers, pipe fitters and welders who have participated in a rigorous, five year apprenticeship training program which is an essential element of the DiGesare operation. We are strongly committed to providing them with the right tools and training to do their jobs efficiently both in the office and in the field. This translates into cost effective solutions for our customers. Over the years we have also invested heavily in our equipment, technology and facilities. These efforts and resources, guided by some of the best project managers, engineers, estimators and CAD people in the industry have made DMI  a financially strong, consistently reliable contractor of choice for our customers regardless of the complexity, schedule or location of the project.
